    Aberdeen-based subsea cable and connector specialist, Hydro Group has completed a major contract with technology developer and supplier of tidal turbines, Andritz Hydro Hammerfest (AHH).


    The agreement saw Hydro Group supply complete connection systems for three turbines on the world’s most advanced multi-turbine tidal stream energy development.

    Aberdeen-headquartered subsea cable and connector specialist Hydro Group plc has partnered with MacTaggart Scott Australia as the firm increases its positioning in the region.


    The partnership is focused on consolidating Hydro Group’s current work on the Royal Australian Navy Collins Class Submarines and to extend its services to aid the Australian capability for Future Submarine and Future Frigate. Additionally, the company will offer its expertise in specific marine cabling systems.

    The cable and connector specialist was recognised for its performance in the subsea sector and its significant development to date, as well as its plans for future success and growth, both in the UK and internationally.

    Aberdeen-headquartered Hydro Group Plc, has reported record growth since financial year 2014/15 within its Asian division, due to impressive demand from domestic markets.


    The subsea cable and connector specialist announced significant growth in Hydro Group Asia’s market activity, with a 300% increase in turnover from $700,000 SGD to more than $2million SGD over the past two financial years to 31 March 2016.

    Subsea cable and connector specialist Hydro Group has announced the appointment of William (Bill) Mildon, as president of newly formed Hydro Group Systems Inc. - a wholly owned subsidiary in Pinellas County, Florida.


    Boasting nearly 40 years’ experience in undersea product development from complex sonars to sensors and undersea cable and connectors, Bill has held a number of senior positions, most recently as technical director at Nest Technical Services. His leadership skills saw him successfully lead teams in submarine penetration designs, under water connectors and numerous fiber optic inter-connect products.
