Hydro Cable Systems Ltd was established in the operational centre of North Sea activities by a nucleus of experienced engineers in 1985. The company was created to support the growth of its sister company Hydro Bond Engineering Ltd (est 1982). Hydro Cable Systems Ltd specialises in the design and manufacture of optical and electrical cables, hybrid cables, tethers and umbilicals for the oil & gas, defence and renewable energy industry.
Hydro Cable Systems designs and manufactures a range of electrical, optical and hybrid cables suitable for use underwater and in harsh subsea environments. Our extensive knowledge of materials and applications engineering combine to manufacture high quality and reliable products, ideally suited for their environment. High grade materials such as polyurethane and polyethylene are used during manufacture to produce cables with superior abrasion resistance, strength, flexibility and reliability.
Hydro Cable Systems increased its industry capabilities over the years and is now heavily involved in Ministry of Defence and Renewable Energy projects. The company is seen throughout the world as a preferred suppliers of subsea electrical, optical and hybrid underwater cables.

Today, Hydro Cable Systems and Hydro Bond Engineering currently operate under the holding company Hydro Group plc, headquartered in Aberdeen.
